Staff Donwood is proud to have a caring and dedicated team of 80 staff. The Nursing Home, Hostel and Day Centre have a Unit Manager who is a Registered Division 1 Nurse. There is a Registered Division 1 Nurse on staff at Donwood 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our team of staff also includes several Division 2 Nurses, Personal Care Workers and Nurse Assistants. We have a qualified Chef and catering staff who prepare all meals for residents. A qualified Physiotherapist and Diversional Therapist are also available. Volunteers Volunteers make a valuable contribution to Donwood by assisting in the organisation of activities and providing residents with companionship and support. Auxiliary Donwood has an active Auxiliary that run a variety of fundraising activities in order to provide special luxuries to give residents a more comfortable and homely atmosphere. The Auxiliary meets on a monthly basis and residents, relatives and friends are welcome to attend these meetings and enjoy good company whilst working for a worthwhile cause. Committee of Management Donwood is run by an elected Committee of Management. Committee meetings are held monthly and the Annual General meeting is held in October. You can become a contributor to the organisation and subsequently have the right to vote at the Annual General meetings for a small contribution fee of $2.20 (tax deductable). Training Donwood provides clinical experience and training for many nursing students from various tertiary institutions such as RMIT University, Swinburne University and Deakin University. We also provide clinical experience to members of the Defence Forces and Personal Care workers. Donwood is approved by the Nursing Registration Board of Victoria, for the re-registering of Division 2 Nurses whose registration may have lapsed. For further information, please Contact Donwood.
